How to repair the Icon HD Driver manually

Sometimes the Icon HD Driver needs a manual repairing. In those cases follow one of these methods.

 


Repairing by the Driver Setup Program.

  1. Unplug the Icon from USB.
  2. From Add/Remove Application panel, remove the entry that contains "Mares (usbser) Icon HD", if it exists.
  3. Download this driver (details on the manual setup provided here).
  4. Run the setup (the .exe file) and follow the instructions.
  5. Plug the Dive Computer into the USB.
  6. Run the Dive Organizer program. After this operation, the Dive Computer should detected.
  7. Download the Logbook of your Dive Computer as usual.

 


Repairing by the Device Manager (video available). Use this method on cases not covered by the previous methods. Useful if you have already installed the driver and if "ICON HD COM" has a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager.

In rare situations and for unknown reasons, the device ICON HD COM only shows up in the Device Manager when the Icon is connected and it never appear in the Programs and Features as "Mares (usbser) Icon HD". In these cases, the Device Manager says that the driver was not working correctly because there is an error in its configuration in the registry. Thus, the driver can be deleted using the Device Manager itself.
